Abstract:
This article aims to reflect on the teaching of the lexicon in Portuguese language classes, more specifically on parameters to identify and analyze the vocabulary inadequacy in school texts. In order to do so, it is based on discussions centered on Lexicology, with emphasis on the notion of word blocks derived from the Lexical Approach proposed by Lewis (1993, 1997). Regarding vocabulary adequacy, we made use of Oliveira's (2006) categorizations, which gave us the motto to analyze a school text produced by a student of Basic Education. The results of this research reinforce the need to raise the status of the lexicon in the teaching of Portuguese Language, which, in general, does not receive the proper attention, possibly explaining many failures of students regarding to lexical choices. ; Este artículo pretende reflexionar sobre la enseñanza del léxico en las clases de lengua portuguesa, más concretamente sobre los parámetros para identificar y analizar la inadecuación del vocabulario en los textos escolares. Para ello, se basa en discusiones centradas en la Lexicología, con énfasis en la noción de bloques de palabras derivada del Enfoque Léxico propuesto por Lewis (1993,1997). En lo que respecta a la adecuación del vocabulario, hacemos uso de las categorizaciones realizadas por Oliveira (2006), que nos dieron la consigna de analizar un texto escolar producido por un estudiante de Educación Básica. Los resultados de esta investigación refuerzan la necesidad de elevar el estatus del léxico en la enseñanza de la lengua portuguesa, que, en general, no recibe la debida atención, lo que posiblemente explique muchos fallos de los alumnos en cuanto a las elecciones léxicas.
